Lola Young clears up Coachella rumour on Heart Breakfast

Singer-songwriter Lola Young addressed viral claims she was sick on stage during her Coachella 2025 performance when she appeared on Heart Breakfast this morning.

Clips shared online appeared to show the Messy star retching mid-song, sparking headlines that she had vomited in front of the festival crowd. Lola was quick to set the record straight, insisting: “Anyone who says I did can shut up because I didn’t actually vomit.”

Speaking to Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden about what really happened, she explained: “It’s a new thing, since my crowds have been bigger and my audience has been bigger, I have this thing where I almost vomit. There’s a video of it. Now I’ve learned to hold it back because it’s not hot or cute to do that. But the actual vomiting never happened.”

Amanda described her as “proud of herself” for confronting the rumours, with Lola joking: “I had to own it or else someone else would.”

The 23-year-old London artist, who has been nominated for both BRIT and Ivor Novello awards, has seen her profile soar following the success of her single Messy. Her Coachella set marked another career milestone, though Lola admitted the pressure of larger audiences has led to some unusual physical reactions.
