Sian Welby shares NTA wardrobe mishap on Capital Breakfast show
Capital Breakfast presenter Sian Welby has shared an unplanned wardrobe malfunction from the National Television Awards.
She told listeners this morning that her dress shifted after a long taxi ride to the event.
Sian explained that she had not booked a hotel near the venue like many others and instead spent two and a half hours travelling by car due to traffic and strike action.
She said the structured design of her dress meant she couldn’t sit comfortably during the journey, leaving her hot, stressed and with backache before she even arrived.
“When I got out of the taxi, my whole bum crack was on show,” she admitted, laughing with co-hosts Chris Stark and Jordan North, who reassured her that she was allowed to say it on air.
She added that thankfully someone stepped in to adjust the dress before it became a bigger problem.
Welby also reflected on the atmosphere at the NTAs, saying she was thrilled that This Morning picked up an award.
“I know all the crew, and they work so hard on that show,” she said. “After the few years they’ve had, they deserve that, so it felt like an awesome win.”
The trio joked about the moment live on Capital Breakfast, with Jordan North suggesting that listeners were probably searching for photos of the mishap. Welby quickly added that she hoped no pictures existed.
The light-hearted story came as part of the show’s coverage of the NTAs, which welcomed thousands of attendees in London last night.
