Sombr reveals chipped tooth drama and team ‘trying to censor him’

Sombr has confessed he’s been ‘battling’ with his own team over whether to keep his newly chipped tooth after injuring himself twice on tour.

The Undressed singer joined Jimmy Hill on the Capital Evening Show last night to chat about his new song when he mentioned the mishap and why he thinks the jagged look suits him.

Revealing exactly how it happened, Sombr said: “On my last tour of North America, I chipped my tooth twice. The first time in Los Angeles I jumped off this ledge and I hit the mic into my tooth, like the metal mic when I landed, and it just chipped right away.”

He only realised something was wrong once he got off stage and felt the gap: “I didn’t feel it until I got off stage and then something felt weird, and I just felt a hole in between my two teeth, and I started freaking out. We were all running on stage searching for it,” he explained.

Unfortunately, there was no tooth to be found, so he had it fixed, only to smash it again straight away at another show. “I was so mad,” he told Jimmy, who joked that Sombr’s dentist must be loving the repeat visits. Sombr laughed: “I know, making all that dough.”

When asked if he considered keeping the chipped tooth for his image, Sombr admitted: “I thought it was cool but they’re trying to censor the tooth and they’re saying you need to look handsome for the cameras and I’m like ‘dude I just want to have a chipped tooth and be a badass.’”

Fans might not have seen the rogue look yet, but judging by Sombr’s attitude, he might just sneak it back in!
