Jonathan Bailey teases Bond rumours and dinosaurs on Radio 2

Jonathan Bailey addressed the long-running speculation about him taking on the role of James Bond when he joined Scott Mills on his Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning.

Scott put the burning question to the Bridgerton star directly, saying: “It’s an obvious question, but it’s the one people are asking the most, so I’m going to ask it. Do you, or would you be, James Bond?”

Jonathan responded with humour, laughing: “Scott, how dare you!” before turning the suggestion back on the host by saying he could imagine Scott as 007.

When pressed again, Jonathan admitted he would find it hard to turn down but insisted he genuinely did not know what the future holds for the iconic role: “It would be hard to say no, but I know that it’s going to be exciting whatever they do,” he said.

The actor appeared on the show to celebrate the release of Jurassic World Rebirth, in which he stars. The chat took an unexpected turn when Radio 2’s travel presenter Ellie Brennan surprised Jonathan by delivering the travel news dressed as a dinosaur, adding to the Jurassic theme of the morning.

Scott rounded off the Bond chat by thanking Jonathan for tackling the question everyone wanted answered, joking he almost dodged asking it altogether!
