Ashley Roberts reveals Nicole Scherzinger’s painful backstage accident

Ashley Roberts has revealed how Nicole Scherzinger suffered a painful backstage accident that left her leg badly blistered before performing on stage.

The Pussycat Dolls singer was injured by boiling water from a clothes steamer shortly before going on stage, with Ashley telling Heart Breakfast that Nicole was left limping despite the severity of the injury.

Speaking to Jamie Theakston and Zoe Hardman on Heart Breakfast via FaceTime this morning, Ashley also revealed that Kimberly Wyatt has a new hip, while she is dealing with a lower back problem and Nicole has been experiencing neck issues.

Asked about the group’s injuries, Ashley explained: “Kim has a new hip, I’ve got a lower back situation, Nic’s neck is doing things. But, you know, we are getting out there and we are doing it.”

She went on to describe the accident that happened just before a performance, when Nicole was using a steamer backstage and boiling water spilled across her inner thigh.

Ashley said: “I don’t know how she has been on stage performing. It blistered with puss. I mean, she’s going to be scarred for life for sure. And she had it wrapped up limping to the stage.”

Despite the injuries, Ashley explained that the audience’s energy helps the group get through their performances, allowing them to put their pain aside while they are on stage.

She said: “You don’t feel any pain when you are on that stage because it’s all love.”

Ashley also opened up about the emotional video she shared with fans last week, revealing that she nearly decided against posting it because she felt vulnerable ahead of the tour.

The singer explained that she had recorded the video before the tour began and struggled with whether to share such a personal moment, admitting she had been battling “so much fear inside”.

However, she decided to go ahead with posting it, reflecting on how facing her fears had helped her find strength and confidence.

Ashley said: “I’m so glad that I did. But you know, it’s an inner battle that we face sometimes where we have our inner saboteur coming in there and trying to destroy the joy.”

The emotional honesty comes as the Pussycat Dolls prepare to kick off their Forever Tour in London tonight, with Ashley expressing pride in what the group has been achieving despite their physical challenges.

She praised the support they receive from audiences, describing the experience of hearing fans sing along as something that helps carry them through each performance.
