Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black has been named Absolute Radio’s Ultimate 00s Anthem after a listener vote.
Thousands of listeners voted over the past two months, with the definitive countdown of the 150 greatest songs of the 00s beginning at midday on Monday 29 September.
Leona Graham and Ben Burrell have presented the countdown live on Absolute Radio from 12pm to 2pm each day throughout the week, leading to the reveal of the winning track earlier today.
Originally released in 2006, Back to Black beat a strong line-up of noughties classics to take the top spot in the listener vote.
The Killers’ Mr Brightside claimed second place, while Arctic Monkeys’ I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor completed the Top Three.
The countdown celebrates some of the defining music of the 2000s, with artists including Coldplay, Oasis, Adele, Queens of the Stone Age, Doves, Muse and Biffy Clyro featuring among the 150 songs.
The Verve, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Lily Allen, Gorillaz and Linkin Park are also represented in the extensive countdown.
Absolute Radio will continue its celebration of Winehouse with a brand new documentary about her iconic Back to Black album, airing on 25 October.
The programme will explore the making of the album and its enduring legacy, with contributions from a wide range of artists and music industry figures.
Olivia Dean, Yungblud, Jamie Cullum, Nile Rodgers, Emeli Sandé, Tom Grennan, Dave McCabe of The Zutons, Island Records boss Darcus Beese and Lola Young all feature in the documentary.
There will also be archive contributions from producer Mark Ronson, who worked closely with Winehouse on the Back to Black album.
The album remains closely associated with Winehouse’s career, having originally been released in 2006 and becoming the title behind Absolute Radio’s listener chosen Ultimate 00s Anthem.
