Amanda Holden wouldn’t let her daughter anywhere near Love Island
This morning on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, they both agreed they would NEVER let their children go on Love Island.
Although Amanda thinks it’s “amazing telly”, she admitted that she wouldn’t want her daughter anywhere near it.
Jamie and Amanda were talking about the TV show with Ashley Roberts, who asked them: “Would you ever let your kids go on love Island?” They both immediately responded with a “No”.
Ashley, laughing, asked why not, because they might find love! She added: “Gordon Ramsay feels the same as you. He doesn’t watch it actually because he has three daughters. Doesn’t even take the risk that one day they’re going to just appear on the show.”
Jamie pointed out: “You don’t go on that show to find love. We’re not.. do you know what I mean it’s just a manipulative.”
“No way.. my daughter’s 18 next year,” Amanda said, agreeing with Jamie: “It’s just another way of being famous, isn’t it really? It’s not really about love. It’s just about looking hot and just getting involved… but I mean, it’s just amazing telly but it’s not really for love so I don’t want my daughter anywhere near.”
Ashley pointed out that it can work, mentioning Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury, who recently celebrated the birth of their first baby after meeting on Love Island. Amanda responded that it’s a “fabulous story” how they met on Love Island but is a “one off” finding love on the show!
