Chris Moyles is confirmed as I’m a Celebrity contestant

After much speculation, it’s now confirmed Chris Moyles is taking part in this year’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

In the last month we reported the rumours that the Radio X Breakfast host was heading to Australia to be a contestant in the reality show, but now it’s official – he’s doing it after previously turning it down.

Chris joins a range of other celebrities who have been revealed today.

The Celebrity cast are:

  • Pop Icon – Boy George
  • Corrie Star – Sue Cleaver
  • Hollyoaks Actor – Owen Warner
  • TV Presenter & Property Expert – Scarlette Douglas
  • Ex England Rugby Player – Mike Tindall MBE
  • TV Presenter & Journalist – Charlene White
  • Radio Legend – Chris Moyles
  • England Lioness – Jill Scott MBE
  • Comedian – Babatúndé Aléshé
  • TV Personality – Olivia Attwood

Radio has been well represented on the TV show over the years, with Vernon Kay, Victoria Derbyshire, Jordan North, Roman Kemp, Kate Garraway, Adele Roberts and Ian Wright, Lisa Snowdon, Danny Baker, Tony Blackburn, Scarlett Moffat, Fleur East, Noel Edmonds, Iain Lee, Mike Read, Lisa Snowdon, Toby Anstis and Pat Sharp all taking part.

Pat, who was a late entrée to the show in 2011 along with Sinitta and came out in 10th place, had some advice for Moyles: “Chris, enjoy every moment as you’re in a very elite club of lucky people who have been privileged to do the jungle.

“Make sure you get involved because otherwise, you won’t make the edits. It’s a real-life soap, so be the star of the storyline whenever you can.

“Oh yes, don’t breathe anywhere near the dunny! Good luck pal.”

If Chris is lucky enough to win the contest, it would be the second time an ex-Radio 1 Breakfast DJ has done it. Tony Blackburn, Radio 1’s first Breakfast host, was crowned the very first King of the Jungle back in 2002.

Best of luck Chris!
