Is Chris Moyles heading into the jungle for ‘I’m a Celeb’?

Word is that Chris Moyles has signed for this year’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, but has he?

It was first reported last week by The Sun, which is known for breaking showbiz stories first, and it didn’t take long for others to report the story too.

A source reportedly told the newspaper that Chris is a big fan of the show and they have been trying to sign him for years, but he’s always turned them down for a number of reasons and now he feels the time is right.

Ten years ago, Ant and Dec said they wanted Chris on the show because they thought he’d be really funny.

The source added: “Chris has signed up and is preparing himself mentally and physically to go Down Under.

“Fans of the show are in for a real treat and Chris has no doubt there will be some people who will be ringing to vote for him to do some of the gruelling trials.

“This is a huge moment for him and he cannot wait to get stuck in.”

Chris, who has hosted the Radio X Breakfast Show since 2015, speaking on the station last year, admitted that he didn’t think he’d be good on ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ because he’s scared of heights.

The show is returning to Australia this year after being at Gwrych Castle in North Wales for the last two, because of the pandemic.

Radio X’s sister station Capital recently published on its website, a list of celebrities rumoured to be taking part in the show, although Chris wasn’t on the list! Other celebrity names circulating include Boy George, Danny Dyer and Tom Daley.

So, what about Chris – will he, won’t he? Leaking names but not confirming them, is always good for building interest around a popular TV show.

ITV says the line-up will be announced closer to the transmission date in November, but remember, The Sun rarely gets it wrong!
