PM sends good luck message to Sam Thompson on Hits Radio Breakfast

Hits Radio Breakfast co-host Will Best was with Sam Thompson this morning as he began the final day of his epic Match Ball Mission with Old Trafford in his sights.
The pair then spoke to Fleur East and James Barr back in the Hits Radio studio who had a very special surprise for their Hits Radio colleague and played him a good luck message from the Prime Minister.
Sir Keir said: “My message to him is he’s doing a fantastic job I’ve seen footage of him running including with that injury and I have to say it’s pretty inspiring but he’s doing an absolutely fantastic job – all tribute to him.
“We all applaud what he’s doing, it’s really hard work particularly with an injury and Soccer Aid is always good so I’ll do everything to support him I can.”
Sam couldn’t believe it, telling the Hits Radio Breakfast team: “Stop that’s one of the most mental things I’ve seen in my life, he knows my name! I can’t imagine Sir Keir looking at my ‘gram!!”
Sam is raising funds for UNICEF in his five day 260-mile Soccer Aid challenge from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford, which ends this evening, making sure the ball arrives in time for kick off on Sunday.
