Alex Horne awkwardly tries to remember tea boy Jordan North

Alex Horne joined Capital Breakfast with Jordan, Chris and Sian this morning and was reminded of a moment he clearly struggled to recall.

Jordan North told listeners that during his early days on work experience, he once looked after Alex backstage at the Edinburgh Festival.

“For me personally, he was one of the first guests that I looked after when I was a tea boy on work experience many, many moons ago,” said Jordan. “And he was absolutely lovely.”

Alex responded with confusion: “Oh, Jordan, what show was that on?” before joking, “So I was pre-diva days.”

After a few hints, he claimed to remember the encounter, saying: “Ah, I do remember this!”—though Chris Stark wasn’t convinced, asking: “You remember meeting Jordan at the Edinburgh Festival? Don’t lie!”

Later in the interview, the Taskmaster creator spoke about his most memorable guest on the show: Sir Mo Farah.

“Well look, my favourite ever guest on our specials was Sir Mo Farah,” Alex said. “I had to massage his head, and he cried, which is my favourite ever thing that I’ve done in my life.”

Asked if it was tears of joy or pain, Alex explained: “He cried with joy. He started weeping. It was one of those head massager things and they are really nice.” Chris quickly dubbed it an “Orgasmatron,” as the team burst out laughing.

Alex was on the show to promote his latest comedy project The Horne Section!, a new series mixing live music and comedy with audience interaction.

Listen to Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby weekdays from 6:00am – 10:00am across the UK on air, and on Global Player.
