Speech programmes across the station include a show on keeping young people safe online hosted by Channel 4 reality star and trans icon Jaxon Feeley, alongside his close friend Esther Ghey, the mother of trans teenager Brianna Ghey, who was murdered in a case that shook the foundations of the LGBTQ+ community and wider society.
There will be a special on era-defining lesbian TV show The L Word at 20 years old with Vicki Blight, Adele Roberts and actors from the show, from Cardiff-based indie Bengo Media.
Graeme Smith and the team from multi-award-winning podcast OUTCAST UK take over Sunday late nights again with a mix of late-night chat, news, and interviews.
My Pride Playlist has exclusive interviews with Eddie Izzard, England women’s footballer and talkSPORT host Lianne Sanderson and the queer history author, former vicar and now shadow minister for creative industries the Labour MP Chris Bryant.
Other new talent on board this year includes Vauxhall DJ regular, Nick Charles from The Loud Brown Gays podcast and London-based XOYO DJ and producer Alfie Butler.
Virgin Radio UK Content Director, Mike Cass, says: “Virgin Radio Pride is back for its 4th year, bigger and better than ever before. A three-month long party to celebrate how far our community has come while discussing how we continue to make progress.
“Our aim is simple; by continuing the LGBTQ+ conversation, we can make one person feel more safe, secure, less alone and a little happier.”
