Peppa Pig joins Classic FM along with Giovanna Fletcher for special day
Something you thought you’d never read – Peppa Pig is joining Classic FM to host a special programme.
The world-famous pig and best-selling author and podcast host Giovanna Fletcher are both making their radio-presenting debut on Classic FM this weekend.
The station is launching its first Family Classics Day, on Saturday 21 October from 7am to coincide with half-term for many children. The day will include special music, features and programmes.
Peppa Pig will be accompanied by her parents, Mummy and Daddy Pig, to host a world radio first – Peppa Pig’s Classical Music Show: A Classic FM Exclusive, 4pm to 5pm.
Mummy Pig said: “Daddy Pig and I are incredibly excited to have been asked to host a show on the radio, and we’re really looking forward to introducing Peppa to some gorgeous classical music. We’re sure there will be lots of oinks and giggles together in the studio too!”
From 5pm to 7pm, Giovanna Fletcher will host Classical Calm-Time with Giovanna Fletcher, she says: “As a fan of classical music, I am delighted to join Classic FM and other big-name presenters for their first ever Family Classics Day and to host my own programme.
“I know the positive effect that music – and especially classical music – can have on children, so I’m looking forward to joining listeners and their little ones to help them relax and settle down before bedtime with two hours of perfect music.”
Alan Titchmarsh will start Family Classics Day at 7am with a special, family-favourite Classic FM Hall of Fame Hour, followed by Aled Jones and Alexander Armstrong. Then after Peppa and Giovanna, it’s Saturday Night at the Movies with Jonathan Ross followed by Myleene Klass rounding off the special day of programmes.
