Now it’s Sam Smith to launch return of Radio 2’s Piano Room

The Radio 2 Piano Room is returning for a new run.

Liam Gallagher was scheduled to launch the return, but instead, Sam Smith will now perform from the BBC’s Maida Vale studios, accompanied by Kim Petras and BBC Concert Orchestra, during the Ken Bruce show on BBC Radio 2.

First coming to prominence as a guest vocalist with Disclosure, Sam’s debut album, In The Lonely Hour, brought success in 2014. Sam has released a further two hit albums, with new music expected in 2023.

Sam’s achievements to date include four Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, and an American Music Award, as well as a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.

For The Radio 2 Piano Room, Sam will perform the single Unholy with special guest, German singer-songwriter, Kim Petras, plus a classic track and an unexpected cover. Listeners will also have the chance to get questions put to Sam as Listener Voicenotes return.
