KISS reveals the biggest summer anthems of the decade with Shazam
KISS today revealed the biggest summer anthems of the past 10 years in a live countdown of 200 tracks featuring some of the most Shazamed songs of the decade.
Major Lazer has topped the final selection with his hit collaboration ‘Lean On,’ featuring MØ & DJ Snake, and fought off competition from the likes of Calvin Harris, DJ Khaled and Jess Glynne to claim the top spot.
The summer hit ‘Despacito’ (Remix) from Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber came in second place, while Avicii’s huge hit ‘Wake Me Up’ was placed in third.
DJs topped the rundown, with Calvin Harris appearing the most times with 8 songs, and David Guetta coming in second with 6.
2018 appeared to be prolific with 31 summer anthems from that year appearing in the final list, including Clean Bandit Feat. Demi Lovato’s ‘Solo’ and Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s ‘One Kiss’.
The best year for summer hits however was 2015, with three tracks making the top 10 – ‘Lean On’ at number 1, ‘Are You With Me’ by Lost Frequencies at number 6 and ‘Show Me Love’ by Sam Feldt Feat. Kimberly Anne at number 8.
KISS shared the rundown with listeners in the ‘KISS Does Summer Anthems’ show this weekend, which was in close collaboration with Apple Music and Shazam.
Tyler West who hosted the show alongside KISS’ Swarzy, Jordan & Perri, Tinea and AJ said: “Summer might be a little different this year, but it doesn’t mean we can’t blast out some music, get amongst happy memories, and have a good time.
“Hosting this show brought me back so many moments of past summers gone by and this selection is the perfect playlist to get you pumped for those sunny days ahead.”
