C2C Festival cancellation means no Radio 2 live outside broadcast this weekend
Following the cancellation of C2C at London’s O2 tomorrow (Saturday 14 March), BBC Radio 2’s live outside broadcast from the event won’t be happening.
The global pandemic of COVID-19 has forced the organisers of the Country to Country Festival 2020 to postpone it. They say that they hope to reschedule it at a later date.
Radio 2 was due at the event to broadcast the full headline set from Darius Rucker plus music and interviews from Old Dominion, Old Crow Medicine Show and Runaway June.
The live outside broadcast scheduled for Saturday evening on Radio 2 will now be a special themed show from the station’s studios.
Bob Harris, Bobbie Pryor and The Shires’ Ben Earle will be broadcasting a special country show from their regular home at Wogan House.
It will feature live performances from The Shires, Twinnie, King Calaway and Kezia Gill plus exclusive session music from various acts originally scheduled to play at C2C, including Luke Combs, Eric Church, Darius Rucker, The Cadillac Three, Old Crow Medicine Show, Brett Young, Tenille Townes, Eric Paslay, Temecula Road and A Thousand Horses.
Radio 2’s Country Festival will be aired on the station tomorrow (Saturday) 8pm – 11pm.
