Jenna Ortega left Jordan North and Amy Adams surprised after revealing she had never tried a traditional cup of British tea during an appearance on Capital’s Very British Day Out.
The actress joined Jordan and Amy for afternoon tea at Claridge’s to celebrate their new film, Klara and the Sun, with the conversation turning to one of Britain’s best-known traditions.
Jordan offered the pair a traditional English breakfast tea, but Jenna’s admission that she had never tried it prompted a surprised response from both him and Amy.
When Jordan asked whether she had ever tasted tea before, Jenna replied: “No…”
Amy, who appeared more familiar with British tea culture, offered her own description of the drink, comparing it to something she already knew.
She said: “It’s almost like an iced tea but hot and a little stronger but yeah, flavour wise. Sorry!”
Jenna then asked whether she should try the tea, giving Amy the opportunity to share some observations about the importance of choosing the right brand in Britain.
Amy explained: “Since I’ve worked here, I know people are really specific about their brands, so your PG Tips or what’s the other big one?”
Jordan revealed his own preference, telling the actresses: “I’m a Yorkshire man, myself.”
The exchange gave the Hollywood stars an introduction to the British debate over tea brands, with Jordan making his own Yorkshire Tea preference clear during the conversation.
However, the discussion did not end with the choice of teabag, as Jordan also explained that he prefers his tea without milk.
When he suggested Jenna try the drink without milk, Amy asked whether he avoided dairy, prompting Jordan to explain his personal preference.
He said: “I have never liked creamy things like that…”
The afternoon tea moment offered a light-hearted exchange between the three, as Jenna discovered a familiar British drink for the first time while Amy shared her thoughts on how it compares with iced tea.
The appearance formed part of Capital’s Very British Day Out, with the actresses joining Jordan to celebrate Klara and the Sun and enjoy a quintessentially British afternoon tea experience.
