Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding became an unexpected talking point as Emma Bunton celebrated 30 years of Wannabe with a special Heart show alongside fellow Spice Girl Melanie C.
Hosting Heart’s exclusive Spice Girls Day show to mark three decades since the release of the band’s debut single, Emma was joined on air by Melanie C for a reunion filled with memories from the group’s rise to global fame, hopes for a future reunion and a surprise revelation about her weekend.
Emma revealed she had attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding in New York, explaining why she had kept the news secret until now.
“I had lots and lots of messages at the weekend, and I’m sorry but I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone, but I did get an invite to Taylor and Travis’ wedding,” she said. “A massive congratulations to them both! It was in New York and it was absolutely beautiful. And that is all I can say I’m afraid.”
Reflecting on Taylor’s previous visit to Heart, Emma added: “Last year when she released her last album, Taylor came to see us right here in Heart and it was so lovely.”
The pair also spoke about the prospect of a Spice Girls reunion, with both agreeing they would love to get back together if the timing is right.
“I cannot think of anything better for the world right now than a Spice Girls reunion,” Melanie C said.
“It would just be so nice, wouldn’t it?” Emma replied, before adding: “We’ve talked about it before. It’s always just finding the right moment. And we feel like it’s the right… don’t we Mel? So we just have to get everybody else on board, but we will keep you updated.”

Looking back at the release of Wannabe in 1996, Melanie C recalled the moment the group realised everything had changed.
“I went out the next day; I went to do a bit of shopping in Watford. I was like, ‘Oh my God, everyone is going to recognise me.’ Nobody batted an eyelid. When we came back from Japan, everybody knew who the Spice Girls were. That trip was the change.”
Emma added that the band’s debut single had become “iconic”, while Melanie C reflected on the confidence the group had from the very beginning.
“We had no doubt in our minds that we were going to be the biggest band in the world. And we were,” she said.
