Lulu will make her BBC Radio 2 presenting debut with a special Sounds of the 70s programme.
The Scottish singer songwriter will sit in in for Shaun Keaveny, hosting Sounds of the 70s, sharing classic tracks from the decade.
The programme will see Lulu revisit some of her favourite music and artists from the 70s, while bringing listeners stories from her own experiences during the memorable era.
Lulu will guide listeners through her personal journey of the decade, reflecting on the songs, performers and moments that shaped her career and musical memories.
The singer became a household name after finding success with her version of the Isley Brothers’ song “Shout”, which became her first hit in 1964.
Her career continued to grow through the years, including her Eurovision Song Contest victory in 1969, when she was a joint winner and her winning song, Boom-Bang-a-Bang, reached number two in the UK Singles Chart.
Lulu’s latest radio appearance comes as she prepares for another major BBC Radio 2 event, with a performance planned at Radio 2 in the Park in Stirling.
The festival appearance will take place on Saturday 12 September, giving fans another chance to see the Scottish star perform live.
Alongside her music achievements, Lulu was appointed CBE in 2021 for her services to music, entertainment and charity, recognising her long career across the entertainment industry.
Sounds of the 70s with Lulu airs on Sunday, 2 August from 3pm to 5pm on BBC Radio 2.
