Comedian, broadcaster and Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland is joining Absolute Radio to host a new Sunday morning show.
The Chris McCausland Show launches on 5 July and will air every Sunday from 8am until 11am. Chris will be joined by fellow stand up comedian and musical comic Jon Long, who has supported him on tour for several years.
Speaking on The Dave Berry Breakfast Show today, Chris said he was looking forward to becoming part of listeners’ Sunday mornings. He joked that he wanted to fill their ears “with drivel” while they avoided doing anything too productive.
Talking about working with Jon Long, Chris said: “Jon is a brilliant comedian, and he’s done my tour support for quite some time, so we’ve spent a lot of time together. I’ve probably spent longer talking to Jon over a six month block than I have my own wife.
“So, we’re used to talking nonsense to each other for some long car journeys and in dressing rooms. And he’s used to putting up with me for long periods of time. I mean, it’s not like he can just leap out of a moving car, is it? So, I’m hoping that in a stationary studio with a door, he doesn’t just walk out.”
The weekly programme will feature Chris’s thoughts on the week, stories from his life and a selection of the music he enjoys, alongside the offbeat humour that has made him a favourite with audiences across television, radio and live comedy.

The new role follows a hugely successful period for Chris after winning Strictly Come Dancing. Alongside his stand up career, he has become a familiar face across TV and radio thanks to his quick wit, honesty and natural connection with audiences.
