Eve joins Capital XTRA and reveals Bank Holiday takeover
R&B star Eve has announced she will guest present a special edition of Capital XTRA’s Fully Reloaded this Bank Holiday, bringing classic sounds to the station’s morning schedule.
Appearing on Capital XTRA Breakfast with Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie, the artist confirmed she will host the takeover on Monday from 11am to 1pm, promising a mix of old skool R&B and hip hop.
The appearance marked a return to UK radio for Eve, who used the interview to share both the upcoming show details and her thoughts on the continued influence of her music.
During the conversation, she spoke about Central Cee sampling her track Let Me Blow Ya Mind on his song Doja, revealing that she was immediately supportive of the idea once she heard it.
She said: “As soon as I heard it, I was like, ‘This is a hit.’ I knew it. For a record like this, it was a no-brainer.”
Eve explained that while there were discussions taking place behind the scenes, including legal considerations, her reaction as an artist was clear from the start, even as the approval process ran close to the release deadline.
She also reflected on what it means to see her music reach a new generation, saying it has had a positive impact on her live performances and connection with audiences.
Eve said: “It’s amazing. I feel so lucky. It ignites my shows as well and gives everything a new energy. I truly appreciate it and I don’t take it for granted.”
Her upcoming Capital XTRA takeover is expected to lean into that legacy, celebrating the tracks and sounds that have shaped R&B and hip hop over the years.
