Greggs and Capital Breakfast introduce limited edition bacon roll

Earlier this week, new Capital Breakfast host, Jordan North, announced on-air a bizarre way to enjoy a bacon roll which gave Greggs an idea to launch it as “The Jordan”.

Jordan confessed to fellow co-hosts Sian Welby and Chris Stark that he enjoys mustard on his bacon buttie with a squeeze of both ketchup and brown sauce. He said it “changed his life” since he first tried it 12 years ago and urged listeners “don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it!”

It didn’t take long for the team at Greggs to hand deliver Jordan and his team a selection of “The Jordan” butties to enjoy in the studio.

Sian Welby and Chris Stark shared their “The Jordan” ratings on Capital’s Instagram with Sian rating it just a 5/10 remarking it “it’s not bad… it’s different”, however Chris called Jordan’s creation “a movement” rating it 8.5/10 urging Greggs to introduce it in shops nationwide.

Greggs CEO Roisin Currie appeared on this morning’s Capital Breakfast Show, acknowledging “if our customers are saying they’d like to try it, then let me see if there’s something we could do”, before going on to admit she was also intrigued to try “The Jordan” for herself.

Now, Greggs have since this morning announced they will introduce “The Jordan” in 5 shops across the UK this Friday only; a day that beats Burnley winning the FA Cup according to Jordan himself!

These shops are Leicester Square London, Grainger Street Newcastle upon Tyne, Queen Street Cardiff, the Bullring Birmingham and of course in Burnley at the Charter Walk Shopping Centre, where from 8am – 11am they’ll give away 100 of “The Jordan” bacon rolls for free, whilst stocks last.
