Paddy McGuinness to sit in as Rylan takes time off Radio 2 show
Comedian and presenter Paddy McGuiness is to sit in on Rylan’s show on BBC Radio 2 for four weeks.
Rylan recently celebrated five years hosting the Saturday afternoon 3-6pm show, which he took over from Zoe Ball when she moved to the station’s Breakfast Show.
Explaining his time off, Rylan said: “I’m going to be off for a few weeks filming something very special, so the wonderful Paddy McGuinness is going to be keeping my lovely Radio 2 listeners entertained while I’m away. Over to you Paddy.”
Paddy is no stranger to BBC Radio 2 having stepped in to present the morning show last November while regular host Vernon Kay was running an ultra marathon for Children In Need.
Speaking about sitting in for Rylan, Paddy says: “I’m really excited to be taking over the reins of Rylan’s show and keeping his seat warm for four weeks.
“I can’t wait to bring the fun, and an endless supply of dad jokes, to Radio 2 every Saturday!”
Paddy’s four week run on Radio 2 starts from Saturday 10 February.
