Paul O’Grady special plus Tarrant and Rippon to Boom Radio this Christmas

Christmas on Boom Radio includes a musical celebration of Paul O’Grady with Julian Clary plus Chris Tarrant and Angela Rippon return with festive programmes.

Paul was well known for his legendary Christmas day Show, which he hosted for 14 years. Now, on Christmas Day 12-2pm, his friend Julian Clary introduces some of Paul’s favourite music and celebrates his life, accompanied by those who knew Paul best: his friends, fans and family.

This is followed at 2pm by Angela Rippon, who is back on the station to play two hours of music. Later on that evening at 9pm, Simon Bates wil explore what makes the song White Christmas unique. There are more than five hundred versions of it and it’s outsold any other song.

Chris Tarrant also returns to Boom on Boxing Day at 4pm, broadcasting from home, playing a range of tracks he enjoys.

Other highlights include Johnnie and Tiggy Walker sharing  memories of Christmases past, The Tom Browne Story, which looks at the life of the man who presented the Radio 1 chart in the 70s and a programme celebrating 60 years of the iconic TV show Top of the Pops.
