King of the Jungle crown for 2023 goes to Hits Radio’s Sam Thompson
Sam Thompson was crowned King of the Jungle in this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here last night.
The Hits Radio weekday evening host won the title ahead of runners up boxer Tony Bellew, who came second and politician Nigel Farage, who was third.
Sam’s likeable personality full of energy and enthusiasm was a hit with viewers and made him the bookmaker’s favourite to win. He admitted that he was “really overwhelmed” at winning and didn’t think he would ever be invited on the show, let alone sitting on the winner’s throne.
He told Ant and Dec that it was like living a dream he didn’t want to wake up from and that he felt like the luckiest person in the world.
By his own admission, he’s a fan of the show having watched every series so far, but said that being on it was a hundred time better than he thought it would be.
When Sam was asked what he had to say to those who voted for him to win, he said: “I’m so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve dreamed of doing this show for years and years and you’ve made a boy’s dream come true.”
