Comedian Matt Richardson replaces Iain Lee on JACKfm

Multi-award winning comedian, former host of TV’s The Xtra Factor and Virgin Radio drivetime, Matt Richardson is joining JACKfm.

Matt returned to his home county last year after nearly a decade living in London and now returns to radio to host JACKfm breakfast following Iain Lee’s decision to step down.

Matt says: “I was born in Didcot and went to Uni at Oxford…Brookes, but it’s still Oxford and when you come from Didcot, the grass is always greener! But seriously I know how the people of Oxfordshire tick because I am one of them – and I can’t wait to wake them up every morning.”

In addition to hosting the weekday breakfast show, Matt will continue to host his highly successful Laughing Ox stand-up comedy nights in venues across the area.

He’ll still be a regular face on TV too, where most recently he was a contestant on Celebrity Mastermind. He has also appeared in Dancing On Ice, Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Celebrity Coach Trip.

Steve Simms, JACKfm’s Programme Controller said: “I’m delighted that Matt’s here to champion all things local and join our amazing team of big names and local heroes, of which he is both!”

JACKfm Breakfast with Matt Richardson will air weekdays from 7-10am from Monday 13 March.
