Roman Kemp surprised with 30th birthday party live on Capital
Ed Sheeran, James Corden and other celebrities lead celebrations for Roman Kemp’s 30th birthday live on Capital earlier.
Roman, who turns 30 tomorrow, arrived to present his Capital Breakfast show this morning to find the Leicester Square studios transformed into a birthday party. There were balloons, a life-sized caricature cut out and Roman’s favourite breakfast presented by The Apprentice star Tom Skinner.

Co-hosts Sian Welby and Chris stark arranged the surprise and when he arrived, Sian said: “It’s your birthday party today Roman,” before singing “happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Roman Kemp who’s 30… tomorrow, happy birthday to you!”
Ed Sheeran was one of many celeb friends who wished Roman “Happy Birthday” in a video and James Corden said: “Roman, Happy 30th Birthday! I absolutely love you. I hope you have the best day and I cannot wait to see you soon. Happy Birthday buddy. I love ya!” from the set of The Late Late Show.

Davina McCall: “I just wanted to say a massive, massive Happy Birthday! “Everybody knows about your talent and your charm, but I don’t think a lot of people know what a great and loyal friend you are. You’ve been amazing to me and the kids just when we needed it most, so thanks for that.
“I do know about your professionalism though, because we’ll always have jungle radio together, broadcasting live with cockroaches being thrown at us and pigeons flapping in our face, and you kept it going amazingly.
“In terms of charm, you are the only person… that’s actually persuaded me to wash your pants in the shower, in the jungle, which I’m rather proud of. Guests including Rita Ora, Leah Williamson and the Arsenal mascot Gunnersaurus were live in the studio and before the end of the show, Roman was surprised with a spectacular showstopper cookie cake topped with brownies and a 30th banner!
