Drag Queen KY Kelly named Hits Radio Pride Future Star 2022

The Staffordshire-based Drag Queen had most online votes out of the final six, to win a residency on the LGBTQ+ radio station.

Referencing her love for Girls Aloud in her audition, the Hits Radio Pride’s Future Star will reveal behind-the-scenes gossip and secrets of a working drag queen between the tracks she plays.

Speaking to Jordan Lee on the station’s Breakfast show, she said: “I am absolutely ecstatic, as I said when we had the interview before, radio is something I’ve wanted to get into for absolutely ages… I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who did vote, this is an ideal early Christmas present and a dream come true.”

Paul Gerrard, Hits Radio’s Programme Director said: “We were blown away with the sheer number of votes we got this year and are so excited to welcome KY Kelly to the Hits Radio Pride family. The creativity, energy and confidence that she brings to the stage will surely translate well to the station and give our listeners even more reason to tune in and party on the weekend!”

KY Kelly will be on air every weekend on Bauer Media’s Hits Radio Pride this December.
