Scott Mills start date on BBC Radio 2 afternoons revealed

The start date for the new Scott Mills show has been confirmed by BBC Radio 2.

Scott left Radio 1 towards the end of August after it was announced the previous month that he would move to Radio 2 following Steve Wright stepping down from his afternoon show.

Steve’s final weekday show was last Friday and OJ Borg is hosting the slot for the next few weeks until the launch of Scott’s new show.

Radio 2 has now revealed that Scott will launch his new show on Monday 31 October, from 2pm-4pm.

There had been speculation that Scott was being “warmed up” to the Radio 2 audience since he began covering various shows in 2017. The first weekday show he covered was Steve Wright’s in August 2020.

Scott says: “A brand new era begins for me at my new home, BBC Radio 2. In an attempt to scare me even more, the bosses have decided my very first show is on Halloween! Join me every day for the best music and let’s switch off from the world for a couple of hours and have a laugh.”
