Europe’s Biggest Dance Show returns to BBC Radio 1 with Danny Howard

Danny Howard will kick off Europe’s Biggest Dance Show when it returns to BBC Radio 1 later this month.

For the first time, Ukraine will be a part of the show as Radio 1 partners with eleven radio stations from across ten countries for the broadcast showcasing the best of each nation’s dance scene.

The stations will come together for the simulcast on on Friday 14 October, with Danny Howard starting the show at 6pm with exclusive mixes and interviews from big UK acts.

Danny Howard says: “Dance music is all about creating moments whether that’s on the dance floor at a festival or on the radio. There isn’t a bigger coming together than the whole of Europe on a Friday night celebrating the genre we love.

“Europe’s Biggest Dance Show is special because it’s so exciting to hear what the other countries have to offer from their respective scenes and artists.

“It’s truly inspiring and it’s also a privilege to showcase the UK sound with our friends across the continent, this really will be one of those moments you don’t want to miss.”

Aled Haydn Jones, Head of BBC Radio 1, says: “We launched Europe’s Biggest Dance Show in 2019 in the hope that we would unite listeners around the world and celebrate Europe’s incredible dance scene.

“I’m extremely proud that this year it is returning bigger and better than ever before with ten countries taking part who will be passing the dance baton around Europe, starting in London and ending in Kyiv.

“I’d like to welcome Ukraine who we are partnering with for the first time during what we know is such a challenging time for them.”
