Diplo, TSHA, Swedish House Mafia and more to take part in Radio 1’s Dance Weekend 2022

BBC Radio 1’s Dance Weekend 2022, which is taking place between 5 August – 7 August, will include exclusive sets from Diplo, TSHA, Swedish House Mafia and more.

The Dance Weekend kicks off on Friday 5 August with dance music playing across the station from 2am, leading to 6pm for the launch with Danny Howard, Sarah Story, Pete Tong and Jaguar.

There will be guest sets from Diplo, LF System, Skream (UKG Set), TSHA, Meg Ward, Gorgon City b2b Sonny Fodera (Ibiza Classic Mix), Jeremiah Asiamah (Afrohouse Mix), Rene LaVice b2b Charlie Tee and Sarah Story b2b Jaguar.

Rounding the night off with an Essential Mix from Swedish House Mafia at Ushuaia from 12am.

Saturday will focus on Ibiza with Radio 1’s Dance Anthems (4pm – 7pm) presented by Arielle Free broadcasting live from Café Mambo.

From 7pm – 1am Danny Howard have special sets from John Summit, LP Giobbi from Defected at Eden and Andrea Oliva b2b Hot Since 82 live from ANTS at Ushuaïa Ibiza.

Leading into a Classic Essential Mix: Rewinding to 1998 with Carl Cox recorded at Space in Ibiza from 1am.

On Sunday 7 August, Sian Eleri and Benji B will present a special four-hour show with Chill Mixes from Aluna plus surprises on the night, and a special live visual set from Franky Wah (7pm – 11pm).

BBC Introducing Dance with Jaguar (11pm – 12am) presents a special episode with Melle Brown delivering a 100% Introducing Mix.

Radio 1’s flagship Dance Weekend will be part of a wider dance season from Ibiza including Essential Mix x Hï Ibiza Presents Vintage Culture (30 July, 12am – 2am), Essential Mix x Amnesia Ibiza Presents Marco Faraone b2b Eats Everything (31 July, 1am – 3am). Radio 1 will also be at Amnesia in Ibiza for Pyramid which listeners will be able to hear sets from in the coming weeks.
