Valentine’s Day sees 5 Live Drive’s new partnership on air

Today marks the beginning of new daily presenting team on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Drive programme.

Clare McDonnell begins her role as presenter of 5 Live Drive with longstanding host Tony Livesey, from 4pm today.

Already familiar to 5 Live’s audience, Clare has presented programmes across the station and has regularly stood-in on Drive together with Tony.

On today’s programme, as they begin their new on-air co-presenting duties, Clare and Tony will take a look at what makes a great relationship; platonic, romantic or working! As usual, there will also be the latest news, sport and big issues of the day.

Last month, speaking of her excitement for the new role, Clare said: “I loved 5 Live as a listener for many years before I got the opportunity to present on the network.

“Tony and I have great on-air chemistry, which is a gift to take into a new show. Together, I hope we can take the programme onto new heights and reflect the ever-changing lives of our audience. I can’t wait to transmit our joyful energy onto the airwaves and have a laugh with the listeners!”
