DJ and TV presenter Arielle Free is joining BBC Radio 1 to host a new weekend early breakfast show.
Starting on Friday 6 August, the show is new to Radio 1 and will air before weekend breakfast with Matt and Mollie from Friday to Sunday. Adele Roberts will host the show Mondays to Thursdays.
Arielle has previously covered early breakfast and Radio 1’s Dance Anthems. She also presents podcast Love Island: The Morning After and Scrambled! on CITV.
Arielle Free says: “To use a cliché, this is a dream come true for me to join the greatest radio station in the world. Radio 1 is the reason why I got into broadcasting in the first place and has been the soundtrack to my life. I’ve been a music lover ever since my mum took me from festival to festival in the womb. It’s truly an honour to wake the nation up and ready for the weekend.”
