Last night BBC Music’s Sound of Music 2019 Live took place at BBC Maida Vale in London.
Performing, were Ellie Goulding who was the 2010 winner, along with this year’s winner Octavian, plus Mahalia, Dermot Kennedy, Grace Carter and Sea Girls who were also broadcast live on BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac’s show.
BBC Music Sound Of Live is an intimate gig featuring live performances from artists on the Sound Of 2019 longlist who the BBC and a panel of influential industry experts, including Ellie Goulding, have tipped for success in the coming year.
Celebrating its 17th anniversary, the BBC Music Sound Of list has a track history of predicting who are going to be the next big thing because it is chosen by some of the most influential people at the heart of their respective musical genres.
This year’s selected panel of 136 experts included representatives from the likes of VICE, i-D, Mixmag; and from the biggest music festivals including Glastonbury, Eurosonic and Reading & Leeds. The panel also featured DJs including Clara Amfo, Zoe Ball and DJ Target.
Thank you @BBCR1 @AnnieMac for having us last night, love being back at Maida Vale… brought back lots of memories and fun to play a song from The first record again 🤩 thank you also for the immense support you've given me from the very beginning x
