Jazz FM creates pop-up stream for awards

Jazz FM is providing an extra stream and exclusive content for listeners to hear the Jazz FM Awards event and build-up on Monday evening.

From 7pm on the Jazz FM website and app, Nigel Williams will be hosting a special pop-up stream with previews and special guests before the ceremony starts at 730. Chris Philips and Jez Nelson will be hosting on stage while Nigel continues with commentary. All of this will remain online for listeners to relive for the following seven days.

Earlier in the evening the events beer partner Warsteiner will be hosting their regular “Warsteiner 1753” Facebook Live show (at 553pm) backstage with live performances to their millions of followers, plus from 730 Jazz FM listeners will be able to watch the show in full on the stations Facebook page.

Finally, over on Jazz FM, there will be a highlights show between 9-10pm with winners interviews and earlier live performances direct from the stage.

Other industry suppliers and businesses have pledged their backing and support for the event including PRS For Music and PPL who take ownership of the Gold and Lifetime Awards respectively, plus Arqiva and RCS are major award sponsors again while alongside Sharpstream as a partner, veteran jingle producer David Arnold – the creator of the jazz fm musical logo now in its 21st year – continues to support the evening.

Jazz FM Content Director Nick Pitts says “At the centre of jazz is collaboration and we embody this ethos in everything we do. Therefore having many of these important ‘behind the scenes’ partners wanting to join us in celebrating the great and the good of the genre is very exciting and we are proud to have their name in lights on the night. Our listeners benefit directly also so it’s a win win – we wouldn’t have an awards without our sponsors and partners and for that, we thank them”.
